visual impairment (VI)

Visual Impairment is a term experts use to describe any kind of vision loss, whether it's someone who cannot see at all or someone who has partial vision loss.
Some people are completely blind, but many others have what's called Legal Blindness.

Types of Visual Impairment
* Low visual acuity means vision between 20/70 and 20/400 with the best position correction or a Visual field of 20 degrees or less.

* Blindness is defined as a Visual acuity worse than 20/400 with the best possible correction, or a Visual field of 10 degrees or less.

Examples of a Visual Impairment
* Albinism
* Colour Blindness
* Loss of central vision loss

The most common visual Impairment is "CATARACT" : is a clouding of the eye's lens and is the leading cause of blindness worldwide
